Nishtar Hospital is the largest hospital of Pakistan. It is comprised of 30 wards and it can accommodate the 3,000 patients per day. The out-door unit also accommodates hundreds of  patients daily. Nishtar Hospital was built with the help of Sardar Abdur-Rab Nishtar and it started functioning on 1st October, 1953 with only 80 beds. There is a Medical college as well in the building of Nishtar Hospital which is known as Nishtar Medical College, Multan. This is a reputable college for attaining MBBS degree with training for nurses in Nishtar Nursing School.
