Smallest Mammal in the World

Several species of shrew have a head and body length of less than 4.5 cm and weigh about 2 g. Therefore shrew is the smallest mammal in the world as well as on earth. Shrew is also found on almost all parts of the world except Australia and New Zealand. It is also the lightest mammal in the world. The hog-nosed bat of Thailand is about the same weight.
