The average size of a tiger’s head is 140-280 cm long with head and body size with tail length of 60-90 cm. All the forms of tigers like Siberian Tigers, Indian Tigers and Sumatran Tigers differ in their size. Sumatran tigers average size is 204 cm, Siberian tigers average size is 330 cm while the Average size of Indian tiger is 210 – 270 cm.

There are several types of tigers of which Sumatran tiger, Indian tiger and Siberian tiger are popular. The weight of these tigers are different according to their size and natural ecosystem. Siberian tigers weighs about 660 lbs (300 kg). Indian tigers weighs up to 240 to 500 lbs (109 to 227 kg). Sumatran tiger weight is about 265 lbs or 120 kg.

Tigers were mostly found throughout much of eastern and southern Asia, but now there habitats have shrinked because of the human activities. These human activities are deforestation for agricultural use, hunting of tigers and polluting of the earth which is causing rapid ecosystem changes. Now the tigers are mostly found in India, Sumatra and Siberia. Siberian Tigers are the largest tigers in the world according to their weight and height.

Indian tigers are the big sized tigers who like to prey Sambhar and spotted Dear. They can eat up to 25 kgs of meat every day. The life expectancy of Indian tigers is 15-20 years. Now the question is “Where tigers are found in India”. There are about 1400 tigers left in India which are found in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Orissa, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Sumatran Tiger is the smallest of tiger subspecies and it is a quick moving tiger as well. The smaller size makes this tiger to move quickly through the jungle. Sumatra is the Island of Indonesia where these species live. These are also the critically endangered species of the tiger family. They eat the flesh of hunted animals and they come out at dawn to hunt their prey.

Siberian Tiger is the largest or biggest of the tiger species in the world and are renowned for their power and strength. Siberian tiger likes to live near water and it also love to eat fish at times. Siberian tiger are endangered and their population is reducing gradually. There are about 410 to 510 Siberian tigers in this natural habitat of big cats. They are powerful hunters that travel many miles to find prey, such as elk and wild boar, on nocturnal hunts. Females give birth to litters of two to six cubs, which they raise with little or no help from the male.

The cubs of Tigers live with their mother for an age of 18 months almost. This biggest tiger of the world is only found in Siberia, other tigers in India and Sumatra are not as bulky as these tigers are.

The average life span of this largest species of cat family is up to 26 years in captivity while about 15 years in the wild. The average days that a tiger lives are 5477 in the wild whereas 9496 in captivity. They are mainly found in Sumatra and India. They are also facing a threat of extinction because of the destruction of their natural habitats in the world.
