The partition of Bengal was annulled in 1911. Bengal was one of the biggest province during the  reign of British rule in India. In 1905, Lord Curzon-the then Viceroy of India-partitioned Bengal into two parts. One was predominantly Hindu region while the other was predominantly Muslim province. The decision was taken by the British government to make it administratively better and effective but the Hindu community did not accept this decision as it would benefit the Muslim community. For this reason, anarchy and chaos was caused by the Hindus and in 1911, the British government had to revert this decision.
