Reuters news Agency was founded in October, 1851. Its head office is in London and it considered as the most famous news agency of England. Thomas Reuter is the owner of this news agency.

Paul Julius Reuters was the founder of this agency. He used to work in Berlin, in a publishing firm as a distributor of different flyers and pamphlets. This job gave him the idea of establishing his own firm through which he could provide broadcasting services in England, which resulted in the development of Reuter’s telegram company in 1849. He used electronic media for these services. Initially this company used to provide quality information to banks, business firms and stock exchanges.  In 1858, the first newspaper, which got the subscription with Reuter’s company was London Morning Advertiser.

Reuters has some strict working policies because of that they were criticized a lot. More than thousand employees are working with Reuter these days. Some of their journalists have lost their lives while recording the coverage of different volatile events in the world. Most of them were Iraqi journalist who died between 2003-2011.

Reuters is providing its services in 94 countries and 200 cities. Almost 20 different languages are used by them when publishing their news. It is considered as the well reputed agency in Europe as well as in the whole world.
