The Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) is an external intelligence agency of India formed in September 1968. The primary function of the RAW is to gather external intelligence about terrorism and clandestine operations, acquire & analyze information related to foreign governments, conglomerates, and personnel to direct Indian policymakers. Military actions are also carried out in collaboration with RAW. Headquartered in New Delhi; RAW is said to be the “effective instrument of India’s national power”. RAW is also a part of protecting India’s nuclear plan. The working of the RAW is not accountable to the Indian Parliament and works under the Indian Prime Minister.

After the formation of RAW, budgeting was the major issue it faced. Later on, it strengthened itself increased its budget and agents gradually and today, it holds almost ten thousand best workers and a large amount of money as the budget for its working and development. RAW gives highly tough and hard training to its agents so they can handle out any situation quite intelligently. Its agents are also working in various other countries in favor of Indian army. Several missions inside country are also carried out by RAW. It also works at the borders of country to protect it against enemy attack.
